Abuse takes many forms: emotional, physical, sexual, addiction and self sabotage. A state that carries shame, hiding, repression and denial. This image is of a mouth/wound that is gagged and sewn shut. It is camouflaged; sinking into the depths of murkiness, emptiness and turmoil. Its oozing and bleeding and at the moment of breaking free of the hold that the abuse or addiction has had. A magical and heart-wrenching moment in time when it cannot be denied or camouflaged any longer. Paint darts back and forth at the top of the image to represent the repressed energy being freed and the moment suffering transcends to healing.
